Roderick’s descriptions for the various birthpaths are as follows: October, November, and December as 10, 11, and 12 reduce to numbers 1, 2, and 3 respectively. The month’s from January through September correspond with numbers 1-9. Just add together the month, day, and year of your birth. The energy associated with this is your birthpath. One very important date is your own birthday. You can also use it to get a sense of how different energies work on different dates. Numerology isn’t restricted to matching letters with numbers. That seems like a far more concrete way to link numerology with spellcraft to me. For example, with the love spell, I might choose to use 9 pink candles or repeat a chant 9 times or reinforce the spell every day for 9 consecutive days. If I was to use numerology in my spell workings, I’d figure out the number for the core word and use that number somehow. I have to admit, though, that I have no idea where Roderick got these particular correspondences from…and I have to admit that I don’t see a ritual that invokes Ereshkegal as the Goddess and Shiva as the God working out very well. Roderick then suggests we consult a table such as the one he provides below and use some of the correspondences listed for that number in the spell: Love, for example, would be 3+6+4+5, which is 18 or 9. Then you analyze the numeric value of that word. He suggests that we distill the purpose of our spell to a single word, something like ‘love,’ ‘success,’ ‘understanding,’ and so on. Usually the four elements and a person’s personality are an element + astrology pairing.Īlas, this too is something I think I will pass by.Īs Roderick notes, numerology can also be used to boost magic work. Frankly, most element + numerology systems I’ve heard of use the Chinese five element system. I can’t say I disagree with a lot of this, but I don’t know enough about numerology to figure out if the elements Roderick has given pair up well with the numbers. Earth believes that fire is too energetic. Fire feels extinguished or grounded by both of these energies. Fire harmonizes least with water and earth.Water wants to feel and air wants to think and analyze, so water will feel as though air is lacking in emotional depth. Earth believes air is too flighty and insubstantial. Air is least harmonious with earth and water. ![]() However, water and earth make mud and these two can potentially lose their relational boundaries easily.
